The following are answers to frequently asked questions about Rusutsu Resort.

FAQ about Hotel and Accommodation

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in starts from 3:00 p.m. and check-out is by 11:00 a.m.
If your accommodation includes admission to the amusement park or a lift ticket for the ski area, you are able to receive the ticket before check-in.
Are there any baby beds for rental?
Yes, the hotel provides a limited number of baby beds for rental at a cost of 3,240yen per day.
What is the child policy in Rusutsu?
Child rate applies to 6-12 year olds. Children 5 years or younger may stay free of charge providing they stay in the same room as parent or guardian (using existing bedding).
Children from 4 years and up are required to pay for restaurants and admission to the amusement park.
Are there any package bonus for accommodation?
Hotel guests enjoy free admission to the following facilities:
– Indoor Wave Pool
– Rusutsu Resort Onsen
– Two storey Merry-Go-Round
– Parking
* After check-out standard admission fees for the indoor wave pool and Rusutsu Resort Onsen are required.
* Operation hours may be changed without notice. For details please confirm with Front Desk.
Will Front Desk keep my luggage?
Guests staying in the North or South wing Hotel, Log houses or Cottages, are able to store luggage in one of the secure lockers provided, free of charge.
Are guest rooms connected to the internet?
Guests are able to access the internet via the Free Wi-Fi service in hotel guest rooms (except for Log Houses, Cottages, Highland Lodge and Travel Lodge). Free Wi-Fi areas also cover the public spaces such as the hotel lobby, convention halls, ballrooms, restaurants and shops.
Can I send my luggage to the Hotel?

FAQ about Restaurant

Where can I receive my meal coupon?
If your accommodation includes breakfast or dinner, you will receive your meal coupon upon check-in.
If I don’t have a meal coupon, can I use the restaurant?
Yes, of course. You can have the bill charged to your room or you can settle at each restaurant.
Can I make a reservation at the restaurant?
Yes, guests are welcome to make dinner reservations for a restaurant, “Belle Vue”. Please be aware the majority of restaurants do not accept reservations at this time, however these restaurants can accommodate a large amount of guests.

I’m worried about my allergies?
At buffet restaurants, a reference for common allergies is listed in our menu. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to request a special menu.
Does Rusutsu offer Halal food?
As of 2012 Rusutsu Resort is pleased to announce we are certified to create delicious Halal cuisine. Please click here for more information
Can I smoke in the bars and Restaurants?
All the restaurants in Rusutsu are non smoking; however smoking is allowed in the Obrist bar, located in the South Wing.

FAQ about Rusutsu

What kind of clothing should I bring with me?
Rusutsu is a highland resort during the warmer months with a cool and dry climate, we suggest you bring a jacket or thin coat to help keep you warm during your stay.
During winter Rusutsu is covered in snow and the weather can be quite cold.

Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, we accept credit cards payments (VISA, JCB, UC, Diners Club; please contact the reception for types of cards accepted).
Do you have an ATM service?
No, currently there is no on site AMT service at the resort. Guests are able to withdraw Japanese Yen from the ATM at the nearby 7-11 store, located opposite the North & South Wing Hotel.
Do you have a currency exchange service?
A currency exchange service is available at the front desks of the North Wing and the Westin Rusutsu Resort front desks. The following currencies can be easily converted into yen; US dollar, Australian dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Taiwan dollar, Singapore dollar, Euro, Chinese yuan, Korean Won, Thai baht. Traveler’s checks can also be exchanged at the front desk.
Do you offer Tax Free Shopping?
Yes, we will introduce tax refund counter, “Hanamaru” in the shop. Simply visit this tax refund counter, after making your purchase to reclaim your tax. Please note tax refund must be made on the day of purchase, please bring receipt and passport.
What is the smoking policy in Rusutsu?
All the guest rooms in Rusutsu are non smoking, however there are a number of smoking areas conveniently located within the resort. These areas are specially located near the hotel entrances, so finding a place to smoke is never a problem. There are also some indoor smoking areas, which are ideal for the cold winter season.
Are there any self-service washing machines?
Yes, we provide washing machines and dryers to use, perfect for families with young children. They are located in the North Wing, South Wing and Rusutsu Tower. Please buy your own detergent. Small fee applies.
Do you have swimwear rental?
Sorry, for hygiene reasons we do not provide this service.Please bring your own swimwear or you can buy some from our shop.

FAQ about Golf

When is the golf season in Hokkaido?
The golf season is Hokkaido usually runs between early May and Late October. The opening dates can occasionally be delayed by snow conditions.
How many golf courses do you have and how far are they located from Rusutsu Resort?
We have 4 unique courses comprised of 72 challenging holes. The Tower course and a driving range are located adjacent to the Westin Rusutsu Resort. The Izumikawa course is only a 10 minute shuttle bus ride away. While the Wood and River courses are approximately 20 minutes drive by shuttle bus.
Do you have a caddie service?
No, but we do offer a self drive golf cart service which is included in the price of the green fees.
Does Rusutsu have a driving range?
Yes, we have a driving range in a convenient location close to the Westin Rusutsu Resort. This provides a great setting for practising technique on our 300 yard range. Please follow this link for more information.
Is it possible to rent clubs?
Yes, we have a selection of luxury clubs; which are available to rent, from our resort. The quality of the clubs available will be sure to suit everyone.
Can I rent golf shoes?
We have a range of comfortable golf shoes, available for rental.

FAQ about Ski Area

Where can I collect the lift ticket included in my accommodation?
You can collect your electronic lift ticket from the Front Desk before check-in. A deposit of 500 yen will be required in addition to each lift ticket. This deposit will be refunded when the ticket is returned to nearest ticket office or the hotel front desk. For lost or damaged lift tickets the deposit will not be refunded
Can I ski with my lift ticket before check-in?
Yes, once you collect your lift ticket you are welcome to use the lifts.
Will Front Desk keep my luggage?
Guests staying in the North or South wing Hotel, Log houses or Cottages, are able to store luggage in one of the secure lockers provided, free of charge.
Is there a discount for hotel guest that buy a lift ticket?
There is no discount on lift tickets, the duration pass is a great value offer making your stay even more affordable.
What is the difference between a 1 day lift pass and a duration lift pass?
Duration Lift Pass: You can ski on the mountain during the hours of operation, including night skiing, from arrival until 17:00 on the day of departure.
1 Day Lift Pass: Choose the day during your stay that best suits you. Night skiing is always included.

Where can I collect the admission ticket included in my accommodation?
You can receive your admission ticket from Front Desk before check-in.
Can I enter the amusement park before check-in?
Yes, obtain your admission ticket at the Front Desk before check-in and you are able to enter the amusement park.
Will Front Desk keep my luggage?
Guests staying in the North or South wing Hotel, Log houses or Cottages, are able to store luggage in one of the secure lockers provided, free of charge.
What is the difference between a 1 day entry pass and a duration entry pass?
Duration Entry Pass: You can enter to amusement park during the hours of operation from arrival to departure day.
1 Day Entry Pass: Choose the day during your stay that best suits you.
